Unfortunately, the temperature dial isn’t numbered so it requires some guesswork to set the right temperature, but is simple enough.

Despite its sizeable interior, the Arctic King has a rather compact footprint due to its height measuring 28 inches in length, 20.6 inches wide with a height of 33.5 inches. Keep in mind, the freezer requires at least 6 inches of clearance either sides to allow for sufficient ventilation.

Our initial impression of the Igloo ICE103 is good. It has a tasteful, modern exterior that is pleasing enough to the eye and will match most tastes. Although this is a portable ice maker, it’s somewhat larger than many people expected, so we recommend you check the dimensions before purchase. The unit measures 12 inches wide, 15 inches tall with a depth of 14 inches. So rest assured, it will comfortably fit on the counter-top under a standard kitchen cabinet. Functionality

The ice making capabilities of the IM-600US are pretty impressive. It can crank out up to 50 lbs of ice per day, and has the capacity to hold up 25 lbs of ice inside the machine. It produces clear, gourmet ice cubes which are square shaped and about 3/4 inches in size. One operating cycle takes anywhere between 14 to 40 minutes, which is variable depending on the ambient room temperature and water temperature.

Unlike with high-end ice makers, the ice drops into the ice bin in sheets rather than individual cubes, so you need to give it a good tap with the ice scoop to break up the sheet into ice cubes. This compromise is well worth putting up with if you don’t want to stump up the cash for a pricey high-end under-counter ice maker.

It’s eye catching sleek design comprises of a standard black cabinet fitted with a reversible glass door featuring an attractive stainless steel trim. It’s stainless steel long towel bar handle rounds off the look beautifully.

Unlike most beverage refrigerators, the door handle doesn’t come pre-fitted, so you need to fit it yourself. This is real quick and easy to do because the holes are already pre-drilled ready for you to screw in.

The unit is noticeably tall with a height of 33 inches, which gives it a small footprint of a mere 17 inches wide and a depth of 19.3 inches. It should be noted, this model is for free-standing use only as it requires at least 5 inches of clearance to allow for sufficient air circulation.

Inside, there is a 5.75 cubic feet interior capacity, which can accommodate up to 120 standard 12 ounce cans.

Interior

There is no auto defrost feature, so defrosting has to be done manually. It’s recommended that you defrost the freezer when the build-up of frost reaches ¼ inches in thickness, so expect to defrost it about every 3 months.
